A CASE in which two firms being investigated over contracts will be heard in May. Midland Finance and Securities and Globetel Inc want orders to stop the Kenya Anti-Corruption Coinmission (KACC) from using information it may have gathered on an 4 billion security contract they entered into with the Government in 2003.

KACC had hired Price Water house Coopers (PWC) to investigate whether. procurement rules were followed when the Government entered into the contract with the companies. Globetel was awarded a project to provide communication equipment to the Administration Police.

Midland Finance and Securities was to finance the deal. They argue KACC had no powers to hand over its authority to PWC. Justice Joseph Nyamu set the hearing of the case for May 24.
