The statement by the minister for Security, Mr John Michuki, that the Government was not interested in pursuing those responsible for economic crimes under the previous government.

I shed a few tears for the poorest people of this country, who do not know from where their next meal is going to come. The justice system in this country is a mockery. Ordinary people who are caught stealing a few thousand shillings are sent to jail for years, while elected leaders and people in high places who swindle billions of taxpayers money are roaming scot-free.

Not to prosecute the people mentioned by the international investigators on looted funds stashed in foreign countries, is a crime in itself for which the Government of the day stands accused. Let me warn the corrupt that one day they would come face-to-face with the Supper Power up there and they will not be able to escape the final judgement.
