Entrepreneur Profile: Josphat Karinga

Josphat Karinga is the Technical Director of Ristech Solutions a company he founded in 2003. Yipe.org: Tell us how you characterize yourself.:
Josphat: I am a business minded individual who believes in business diversity.

Yipe.org: When and why did you decide to be an entrepreneur?:
Josphat: I thought of entering business seven years ago. The reason being that I had always loved to manage and help others. I first started Ristech in 2003 and was later joined by Ali.N.Kamunge and Josephine Wanjiku who are now play the role of founder members.

Yipe.org: What has been your learning experience in your business venture?:
Josphat: I have found that hard work and patience pays; and also that in every journey there must be a step and in every step there must be a challenge

Yipe.org: What’s the most challenging aspect of being an entrepreneur from your perspective?:
Josphat: Clients believing that their mistake is your mistake because they have the attitude that they are always right. This is a challenge that is faced by many business owners. However our company takes it as a part of the growth/strengthening curve as it makes us handle difficult customers in a positive and more optimistic way. When we have instances of disagreement, we approach the client and listen to them so that we can better understand their need(s). Utlimately, our company needs to maintain a good reputation.

Yipe.org: What changes would you like to see in the business environment you operate in?:
Josphat: I would like to see a change in (some) clients mentality. I also believe that it is also important to instill positivity in all business dimensions

Yipe.org: What key personal attributes do you see as important to be a successful entrepreneurs?:
Josphat: patience, believing in yourself and never giving up. In short: keep on having hope despite the challenges.

Yipe.org: Any advice you would like to give to someone contemplating a startup?:
Josphat: he/she should just take that first step. I am inspired by the motto: forward ever backward never!
